The gutter queen

Sometimes I cannot belive how badly the so called elite of our society behave. This morning I was reminded of this quite rudely when I went to drop my kids at school.
Firstly I think it is important to explain the rules of conduct one adheres too when dropping children at school. Kids being kids will take their own cool time to get out due to a variety of reasons. And all parents are supposed to wait patiently till the car in front moves out without creating a scene.
And tooting the horn in this kind of situation is looked down on as "not propper". Sadly to some people this kind of behaviour is alien.
We had parked near the entrance to the school but my daughters were having trouble opening the boot of the car to take their stuff out which meant I had to get out and try to open it myself. Even I could not open it fast as the lock had got jammed. All in all we were stuck for about three to four minutes. There was a loud tooting behind me to see a red Suzuki Vitara one vehicle behind me becoming quite agressive.
I am generally the quiet and calm sort but somehow this made me react angrily. Of course my reaction was limited to just a "Fuck You" look. But I think it was enough to quieten the driver down.
What amazed me most was that when the Vitara passed me I realized it was driven by someone I knew. Someone who should have known better than to behave in such a disgusting manner because she was a Ladies College old girl and I am sure her parents and grand parents were as well. This lady could be classified as a millionaress belonging to Colombos top society. Just to illustrate my point let me say she is the owner of many large properties many of them down Kinsey Road. But sadly once again this proves that whilst you can be rich in material things you can be completely lacking in the more human aspects of life.
